Almost... beat my old record... as it were, a 3 game match where I lost the first 21-18.  Second game I won at a score of 29-27.  Yes... TWNTY NINE to TWENTY SEVEN.  Took the 3rd game 21-17.

A spirited match.

The "record" I allude to was an hardbat game I played last summer where the final score was 32-30.  I won the game and after the last point we just looked across the table at each other and said... ENOUGH now!

60-58, eh?  Ha!  Good for them and a great story.  Yeah.. you get up around 30... it's a LONG game for sure.  Especially if you have another game... or two to play for the match.

The all-time "record" is when Eric Boggan beat Brian Masters one game, 60-58, in the final of Junior Singles in some major tournament. (This was when games were to 21, back in the early 1980s or so.) It was in a bunch of newspapers, they were interviewed all over the place, and they talked about the amazing game on local TV. The one problem? It never happened! They put down the score as a hoax, and when everyone made a big deal out of it, they played along.

When games were to 21, I've had a few games that went into the 30s, but not too many.
